Meet the John Bailey Team
John Clarke, President
John graduated from Ole Miss with a BA in Business Administration. In 1976, he went to work for Continental Insurance Company as a career trainer. After obtaining the position of bond underwriter he accepted an account executive position with the John Bailey Company in 1980. Mr. Clarke purchased Home Investment Insurance Agency in 1986. His relationship with John Bailey Company continued, as the agency was purchased in 1997. John is the sole owner of both corporations, which are operated in the same location.
Brandon Clarke, Vice President
Brandon is a Farragut High School graduate, who attended Ole Miss and completed his college education with a BA in General Business. After spending a short time with the John Bailey Company, he moved to Denver, Colorado. While living in Colorado, Brandon worked as an underwriter and sales representative for an outdoor insurance company, Gillingham & Associates. Brandon rejoined JBCo in 2005, with a major focus in recreation and outdoor insurance.
Brandon is the co-founder of Young Professionals of Knoxville (YPK) – Past 2007 President, currently President Emeritus. Co-owner of Knoxify, board member of Dogwood Arts Festival, board member of The Fight for Manhood, Introduction Knoxville class of 2008, Knox Charter Petition, and member of Knoxville's 40 under 40.
Wayne Johnson, Vice President
Wayne received a BA degree in Business Administration from the Florida State University in 1969. He has been licensed in property, casualty, life, health and bonds since 1977. Prior to his move to Knoxville in 2000, Wayne was President of an insurance agency in Macon, GA.
Clara M. Williams, Bookkeeper
Clara is a graduate of West High School and Draughon's Business College. She was employed by W.E. Biggs & Company in 1966 and has now been with John Bailey Company for the past 21 years.
Melissa D. LeQuire, Account Executive
Melissa is a graduate of Maryville High School and Knox Area Technical School. She has 20 years of insurance experience. Employed by Seibels Bruce Insurance Company in 1985 and now has been with John Bailey Company for the last 15 years.
Joe Morelock, Account Executive
Joe Morelock manages our clients' auto, homeowners, and health insurance accounts. He also helps us through advertising and marketing inniative.
Joe grew up in Knoxville where he graduated from Bearden High School and the University of Tennessee. Upon receiving his Bachelors degree he moved to Memphis where he served as an economic development intern at the Memphis Chamber of Commerce. While working in the Memphis area he also graduated from the Memphis Fellows Program which focuses on leadership development. Joe has brought back that leadership experience to serve on the recruitment committee for Knoxville Fellows Program as well as Youth Director at All Souls Church.
Anne Bilbrey, Commercial Acct. Manager
Anne is a Knoxville native with 29 years of insurance experience. Her previous 23-year employment was with a local insurance agency. Anne specializes in garage liability, wrecker services, and auto dealerships.
Craig A. Runger, Account Executive
Craig joined John Bailey Company in July 2003 bringing 31 years of insurance experience spread between company, agency, and brokerage experience in underwriting, sales and marketing. A graduate of Western Washington University, Craig's insurance career has specialized in property and casualty lines for commercial manufacturing, transportation, and specialty lines clients throughout East Tennessee and the Southeast since 1972.
Leslie M. Bare, Jr., Agency Continuity
Les lived in Nashville, Tennessee until moving to Knoxville. He spent three years in the U.S. Army serviced in Europe with an Infantry Regiment holding the rank of Sergeant. He graduated from UT in December of 1948 and started working with John Bailey Company in January of 1949. Les taught insurance courses at the University of Tennessee in 1968 and 1969 as a lecturer in the Department of Finance. He was an officer of John Bailey Company for many years until he sold his ownership interest to John Clarke in 1997 and retired as President of the company. Les can be found in the office half the day three days a week working on files of long time customers most of whom are considered friends.
