Anybody? +

Anyone wondering what in the world this thing is? It is being used for office decoration up front. Maybe a 15lb paperweight? I’ve been told it is an “adding machine”. So this thing was a common item, not just before computers but before calculators were even invented.

What throws me off is the round crank on the side. It makes reminds me of either

A. A jack in the box
B. An oil drill

I haven’t tried winding it yet because I’m scared it will break. One things for sure if I did crank it something tells me no clown will pop out of the top, and no oil would spew up to the ceiling.
