Introducing Laura

Ever since I was a little girl my mother told me I could do anything I wanted to do. With that being said, she also nudged me, sometimes not so subtle, to go into insurance. Growing up, she would read me her CPCU text books as she studied for her exam. The field of insurance fascinated me and hooked me at a young age. So, I find myself working as an office manager at an insurance agency. It’s a step up from the unpredictable hours, which was great for college, my retail job gave me. Working in an office setting, I realize how important the mouse is. Without it and the internet, all would be lost.

When I’m not working, I’m constantly going. Whether it be hanging out with friends planking random objects, watching T.V. shows like “Dr. Who,” hiking, or just sitting down with my favorite book (anything by Iris Johansen), if I’m not sleeping, I’m out somewhere doing something. Despite belonging to a gym, I barely go because there is not enough time in the day. When I do go, the music on my IPhone blares out “Flogging Molly” or I put on the radio to my favorite radio station when I lived in Johnson City.

Despite growing up with a mom in insurance, I sadly do not know a whole lot about the complexities that makes up insurance. But I am excited to be learning about all the different ways that insurance helps people protect from the unexpected. But most of all, I look forward to sharing what I learn with you.
